91 cutl sup. struggles to drive... rpm's are high and the car still doesn't want to speed up?

have to kinda punch the gas to get the car to drive.... from a dead stop to trying to get up to speed sucks. the rpm's are high and my car sounds like it's moving fast but struggles to even go 45... then I'll get a jerk forward and it will slowly speed up. once i get up to speed it's not too bad. the check engine light blinks on and off and it has stalled quite a few times.... it doesn't seem to sound right when it idles either. please help!
