Does anybody know how to connect a wireless GH3 guitar?

i just bought guitar hero 3 on ps2. i put batteries in it and put the reciever in controller port 1 then turned on the console and the guitar but it never s on. the red light on the reciver and on the guitar continuously blink. Ive tryed everything. i called a guitar hero hotline, went to a support website, and had a friend over to help but i cant get my guitar to connect. HELP plz
