My son won't eat and just got over a stomach bug-what should I do?

So on Sunday evening, my son and I were just watchting tv-he gets tired and so i put him in his bed and he goes to sleep. at about midnight, he starts complaining of stomach pains and starts rolling around in our bed, since I moved him there. he then starts to throw up pretty much all night. Monday morning comes around. his fever is still up but he's drinking ginger ale and i'm giving him water and a little bit of the electrolyte solution to keep him hydrated. I go to work for the evening shift. his throwing up stops and his temperature starts to go down. he still has it and it's tuesday. I'm thinking I don't need to take him to the doctor and all that I have to do is get his temp down and he will start to eat again. I checked his diaper. No diarrhea. Am I paranoid? the husband is panicking and i tend to when the hubs does. What is wrong with my son and what should I do? Please help
