Should I Get My Giant Flemish Doe A Friend?
If you do get her a 'friend', it must be another rabbit, and she must be spayed first (it's not optional). Unaltered rabbits of either almost always become quite aggressive towards their companions when they reach maturity. A rabbit can easily kill the much smaller guinea pig, plus they have dietary incompatibilities and many rabbits carry bacteria that can kill guinea pigs, and vice versa. With a rabbit as big as a Flemish, and adding a second, that better be one ENORMOUS hutch, though (think 6 feet by 3 feet or larger). Even for a single Flemish, the hutch should be nearly that large once fully grown. There is information here about bonding two rabbits successfully: a href="http://www.rabbit.org/behavior/index.html" rel="nofollow"http://www.rabbit.org/behavior/index.htm…/a Do be aware that they can be picky about their companions, and you must always be prepared to care for both, housed separately, if they don't get along. You will have the best chance of success introducing a neutered male once she is spayed and healed.
